Hello Nicolas Valley Elementary Community,
I am thrilled to join the NVES team as the new Assistant Principal! My journey as an educator began in 1994 as an Instructional Assistant, followed by teaching a 3/4 combo class for a year in the Morongo Unified School District. In 2000, I welcomed my first daughter and took five years off to focus on raising her, followed by two more daughters. In 2005, I returned to teaching in TVUSD, helping open Susan La Vorgna Elementary, where I taught a 4/5 combo, 5th grade, and 1st grade over the next 12 years. Later, I transitioned to Temecula Elementary as a Literacy Specialist and then a third-grade teacher. For the past four years, I have proudly served as Assistant Principal at Paloma Elementary School.
Originally from Tennessee, I moved to California in 1992. I have been married to my husband Dave for eight years, and together we share a wonderful blended family with five adult children—four daughters and one son—and two granddaughters: Paislee, who is starting kindergarten this year, and Ayla, who turned one in July. With our busy schedules, we cherish weekends spent with family, and when possible, we enjoy boating, traveling and attending concerts. I also love camping with the kids—since my husband isn’t a fan of sleeping in tents, these trips are special bonding times for the children and me.
What I love most about being an Assistant Principal is building strong relationships with students, teachers, and staff while supporting both behavior and instruction. I firmly believe that these positive connections are the foundation of success for all students. I look forward to meeting and getting to know the entire Nicolas Valley community and supporting you in every way I can.
