Mrs. Katie Mitchell

Hello Nicolas Valley Parents, Families, and Community Members,

I am honored to be serving as your new Principal at Nicolas Valley Elementary School. I have been in education for 13 years. Before this position, I served as the Assistant Principal at Alamos Elementary School; and as an intervention administrator at Alamos, Barnett, and Paloma Elementary Schools. I was also a special education teacher for grades 3rd-6th for eight years. I live in the Murrieta area with my husband, our two boys, and “the girls” (our two French bulldogs). If I’m not at work, you will likely find me at Los Alamos Sports Park watching my boys play football. During the summers, we enjoy camping, beach trips, and visiting the family house in Maine.

I am looking forward to building relationships with all students, staff, families, and community members as we continue to provide a strong academic and safe environment conducive to student achievement.
